In Massachusetts she served on the Special Commission on Postpartum Depression and helped write state legislation, and she has testified before Congress. She finished second in the six-way May primary, then won the June 16 runoff over Mark Baker with about 52%, carrying the Fayette County portion of the district. She is endorsed by Georgia WIN List.
