She graduated from South Forsyth High School and Oglethorpe University and studied at Georgetown University's McCourt School of Public Policy. Elected to the House from Duluth in 2022, she became the first Muslim woman to serve in the Georgia House and the first Palestinian American elected to office in Georgia.
