Follow the money

Top Sponsors

The same contributors turn up again and again. This page cross-references the top-donor lists on every state legislator's fact sheet to surface the PACs, firms, and interests funding the most seats at once. A tag means a donor backs Republicans and Democrats — the clearest sign money is buying access regardless of who wins.

Across 234 state legislator pages, 225 donors appear on two or more members' top-donor lists. Shown below: the 115 funding three or more, ranked by reach.

Built from the top reported contributors shown on each legislator's fact sheet (sourced from the Georgia Ethics Commission (PeachFile)) — typically each member's largest several donors, not their full ledger, so real overlap is higher than shown. Closely related committee names are merged into a single sponsor (e.g. a PAC's "Inc" and "Fund" committees). The italicized note on each sponsor is our plain-English summary of the interest's typical priorities at the Capitol — an editorial characterization, not the donor's own words. Self-contributions and unitemized/anonymous totals are excluded. Figures are reported top donors, not a finding of wrongdoing; the Georgia Ethics Commission holds the official itemized filings.
